There is something so comforting and nostalgic about a warm chocolate chip cookies fresh out of the oven and this is our absolute favorite recipe! I have made these cookies for so many different occasions...they've traveled in care packages across the country to people I love, they've welcomed my siblings to our home for the holidays after their long travels and they've been the perfect addition to a cozy movie night at home! The love and intention behind homemade chocolate chip is where the magic is found.
1. Gather Your Ingredients
1 cup of unsalted butter, softened
1 cup of granulated sugar
1 cup of packed light brown sugar
2 large eggs, room temperature
2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
3 cups of all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
1 teaspoon of salt
2 cups of semi sweet chocolate chips
2. Let's Get Baking!
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla
In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients until well combined.
Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
Place the cookie dough into the fridge for 20 minutes to chill
Using an ice cream scoop, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 2 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

"Food is a powerful form of magic that can heal, comfort, and bring people together."
