Dutch Babies are a favorite in our home! They make for a quick meal during a busy week or the perfect lazy morning treat on the weekend. Dutch Babies are so versatile and can be made sweet or savory by using whatever you have on hand! I love serving our cheesy Dutch Babies with homemade pesto and a little bit of red sauce!
Ingredients You’ll Need:
6 eggs room temperature
1 cup of milk (any milk of your choice)
1 cup of flour
pinch of salt
pinch of freshly ground black pepper
4 tbsp butter sliced thinly
1/2 cup of cheddar cheese (or whatever cheese you have on hand)
1/2 a cup of pesto(store bought or homemade!)
1/4 cup of red sauce
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 425°F and place a cast iron pan into the oven, you want the pan to be hot!!
Prepare the batter : In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, flour, salt, and pepper until smooth and cheese
Cook in a skillet : Melt butter in a skillet, then pour in the batter.
Bake : Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake until puffed and golden, about 20-25 minutes
Finish with pesto : Spread pesto over the Dutch Baby and top with red sauce
Serve and Enjoy:
Slice the Dutch Baby Cheesy Pesto into wedges and serve warm!
